
China to Invest Rp22 Tln W Sulawesi

"Thank God, West Sulawesi is the only province in Indonesia to receive an investment of Rp22 trillion from the Chinese government. In the not-so-distant future the investment will be realized, Hopefully, the investment will enable West Sulawesi to make progress and put it on par with other provinces," he said as quoted by the media center for Anwar Adnan Saleh gubernatorial hopeful here on Saturday.
Anwar Adnad Saleh who was elected West Sulawesi governor in 2006 is seeking re-election in the gubernatorial election to be held on October 10, 2011.
He said part of the investment would be used to build one of the biggest hydro power plants in Asia which is expected to supply electrical power in Sulawesi island.
Not only that, he added the presence of the hydro power plant would also increase the province's regional income which currently stood at Rp110 billion per year. (S012/H-NG )
