Makassar, S Sulawesi (ANTARA Sulsel) - Delegation of the Australian embassy in Jakarta on Sunday visited a group of women fostered by the Aisyiah, the women organization of Muhammadiyah, one of the Indonesian major Muslim organizations.
"The delegation of Australian embassy meets the executive board member of Aisyiah in Pengkep in Bungoro sub-district as one of the Indonesian Women Advancement Program for Poverty Alleviation (MAMPU)," the organization coordinator Nhany Rachman Khan said here on Sunday.
The meeting between the delegation of Department of Foreign
Affairs and Trade (DFAT) of the Australian embassy with the women group which was held on Friday (Jan 22) was also attended by among others Ms Nicola Nixon, Ms Amelia Johnston, Mr Petra Karetji and Mr Ted Weohau of the embassy.
The meeting followed by the dialogue was aimed to know the improvement of the poor women as the benefit recipients of the MAMPU program which was supported by Australia.
"Our presence in Pangkep is to have a meeting and dialogue to see the implementation and evaluation of the MAMPU program," Khan pointed out.
According to her, DFAT as the responsible party is ready to make new breakthrough in the future implementation of the program.
