Makassar (ANTARA Sulsel) - The success team of the Jusuf Kalla-Wiranto (JK-Win) presidential ticket in South Sulawesi has set itself the target of winning 80 percent of the votes in the province.

"We have set our target at 80 percent of the votes in South Sulawesi to ensure the JK-Wiranto duo's victory. We are optimistic that this target will be achieved after the provincial-level team made a road show with the existing teams in regions," Ajeip Pedindang, the JK-Wiranto provincial team chairman for South Sulawesi, said here on Thursday.

The provincial team had set up 15,000 teams in 25 districts/cities in South Sulawesi, including in Luwu, Toraja, Enrekang, Sidrap, Kota Palopo and Kota Parepare.

"During the road show in the region, we stopped in street food vendors and asked the people who they would choose. And all of them said they would vote for JK-Wiranto," he said.

Jusuf Kalla, a native of South Sulawesi, and his running mate, retired general Wiranto, is competing with other pairs, namely incumbent Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and Boediono, as well as with former president Megawati Soekarnoputri and Prabowo in the upcoming presidential race.

JK-Win has a motto "the faster, the better" and their vision is community-based economic self-reliance.

The national campaign team of the Jusuf Kalla-Wiranto (JK-Win) ticket stated in Jakarta on Wednesday it had never politicized religion to win people's sympathy ahead of the upcoming presidential election.

"There is no politicization of religion. It so happens that the wives of our presidential and vice presidential hopefuls have always been wearing headscarves," Indra Jaya Piliang, a spokesman of the JK-Win campaign team, said at the JK-Win Chemistry Media Center, here on Wednesday.

Indonesia will hold its second direct presidential election on July 8, 2009, and the open campaign will be held from June 12 to July 4.
