Mamuju, West Sulawesi, Feb 8 (Antara) - Coordinating Minister for People`s Welfare Agung Laksono will inaugurate a number of development projects in West Sulawesi next Monday, according to Governor Anwar Adnan Saleh.

"Agung and other ministers will come to West Sulawesi on February 10, 2014 to inaugurate a number of development projects," Anwar said here on Saturday.

According to the governor, the officials expected in West Sulawesi include the ministers of economy, transportation, energy and mineral resources, along with the state electricity company PT PLN president director.

"They will arrive at Mamuju`s Tampapadang airport by private airplane next Monday and, therefore, the West Sulawesi government officials are ready to greet them," the governor said.

He pointed out that this year the province will begin the construction of a number of large projects that will be inaugurated by the ministers.

The governor said the projects which will begin this year include a 23 kilometer arterial road section to link the office of the governor and the Tampapadang airport of Mamuju; a 300-megawatt steam powered electric plant to cost Rp10 trillion in the Belang Belang port of Mamuju; a Rp231 billion hospital project to serve as a referral hospital in the province and a fuel depot at the Belang-Belang port to supply oil fuel for West Sulawesi.

Also, a cooking oil factory will be built in North Mamuju district.

He said that with an investment value of Rp3 billion, the cooking oil factory in North Mamuju district will be the largest on Sulawesi island.

Therefore, he expressed his hope that the local population will support the development projects to improve their welfare and to contribute to the progress of West Sulawesi province.
