Makassar, S.Sulawesi (ANTARA Sulsel) - Makassar Islam University (UIM), South Sulawesi, is exploring the possibility of cooperation for capacity building of human resources with the International Institute of Business and Technology (IIBT) Perth, Australia, an IIBT official said.

"This is a follow-up on the initial meeting between Dr. Gleen Watkins from the IIBT Australia and team and Makassar Islam University`s management," manager of the IIBT Fitriah Syarifuddin noted here Friday.

According to Fitriah, the Australian education institution will establish cooperation for strengthening the capacity of human resources.

Earlier, the IIBT established cooperation with Pendidikan Nasional University and Communication Science College, both located in Bali province.

The cooperation between the IIBT Australia and the UIM aims to synergize several education programs, including educational facilities for students and lecturers to pursue both formal and informal programs in Australia.

Rector of the UIM Dr. Majdah M Zain remarked that in the near future, the university will send some of its students and lecturers to study abroad.

Earlier, the UIM sent a number of lecturers from literature and social faculty to study in Australia.
