Makassar, S Sulawesi (ANTARA Sulsel) - Makassar city government has prepared 2,000 invitation letters to the Asean Mayor Forum (AMF) 2015 which will take place on September 7 to 10, an official has stated.
"Makassar as the host is ready to welcome a total of 150 mayors of Asean and ambassadors of a number of countries," the mayor of Makassar Moh Ramdhan Pomanto said on Tuesday.
Pomanto said that his side has started distributing the invitation letters including to regents and governors across the country.
"This is a momentum to introduce all the Makassar`s potentials to mayors of Asean. Apart from mayors, foreign businessmen will also attend the event," he remarked, adding that the mayor forum in Makassar will be the second of its kind after that occurred in Surabaya, East Java in 2011.
According to Pomanto, in addition to the AMF, the city government will conduct other related activities such as the Makassar Investment Forum, Makassar Global Expo, and Asean Community Week.
Asean members countries comprising Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
