Makassar (ANTARA Sulsel) - Nickel mining company PT Vale Indonesia recorded production at 81,177 metric tons in 2015, its highest record ever.
CEO and President Director of PT Vale, Nico Kanter, said in a statement here on Thursday the production was around 3 percent higher than its previous year`s level.
"We are proud and pleased with the performance . It is the fruit of hard work by the workers," Nico Kanter said.
Based on data from its production summary, the company produced 22,302 metric tons of nickel in matte in the last quarter of 2015 bringing its total production to 81,177 metric tons in 2015.
In the last quarter of 2014, the production was 20,586 metric tons bringing the total production to 78,726 metric tons in the whole of that year.
` "The production in the last quarter of 2015 was also the highest ever in its quarterly production, Nico said.
In 2016, the company sets production target at 80,000 metric tons of nickel in matte.
PT Vale Indonesia is the country`s largest nickel producers producing nickel in matte from and its has ferro nickel plants in Sorowako, Luwu Timur, South Sulawesi .
