Makassar, S Sulawesi (ANTARA Sulsel) - The Indian Consul General in Bali, R.O. Sunil Babu, has met South Sulawesi governor Syahrul Yasin Limpo to discuss expanding cooperation in the education and economy sectors between both sides.

"This visit aims to improve cooperation between India and South Sulawesi, which is already established, particularly in the field of education, and explore cooperation in economics," Babu said here on Tuesday.

He noted that this was his first visit to South Sulawesi, which is one of the provinces in the jurisdiction of the Indian Consul General in Bali.

He said the cooperation between India and South Sulawesi province, especially in the field of education, began in 2015.

"We have established the India Corner at Makassar State University so that people can learn about the various aspects of India," he said.

Further, the Indian consulate general is exploring the potentials for cooperation in economics.

"This is just the first meeting. We will explore more possibilities of cooperation, including in the economic field," he remarked.

Babu added that India and Indonesia have established cooperative relations.

"We hope better cooperation can also become intertwined with South Sulawesi province and other eastern provinces of Indonesia," he added.
