Makassar, S Sulawesi (ANTARA Sulsel) - The delegation of Makassar`s Tourism and Creative Economy Office, South Sulawesi, will continue tourism promotion activities in Valencia, Spain, office head Rusmayani Madjid noted in a short message from Spain received by Antara here, Monday.

"In this city, we were welcomed by Indonesian Ambassador to Spain Yuli Mumpuni," Rusmayani stated.

The Makassar culture and tourism delegation is visiting Spain to take part in the Bazar Solidario Indonesia titled "Makassar Day" organized by the Indonesian Embassy in Spain.

The event will be held on June 4-5 in Madrid, Spain, to showcase Indonesian culture, especially of Makassar, to the local people.

Makassar Day kicked off with promotion seminars to boost investment in the maritime and tourism infrastructure sectors on May 28 in Madrid, Vigo, Las Palmas, and Valencia.

Rusmayani said Makassar, as the host of the Bazar Solidario Indonesia, will showcase its tourism and cultural potentials, which is expected to boost foreign tourist arrivals to the city.

"For two days, we will introduce our tourism and cultural potentials, such as marine and historical tourism attractions, culinary delicacies, as well as arts and culture," Rusmayani stated.

The visitors to the bazaar can sample Makassar`s culinary delights and can also witness a cooking demonstration.

Earlier, the Indonesian Embassy in Spain had held a similar event to highlight the cultures of Betawi (Jakarta).

In 2016, Makassar was chosen to feature in the event as the city has vast tourism potential and offers promising investment opportunities in the maritime sector that are feasible to be developed.
