Makassar, S. Sulawesi (ANTARA Sulsel) - Movies from Norway and Georgia will be screened at an art event called Makassar International Eight Festival and Forum, better known as F8, on September 8-10, 2016.

"We have received official confirmation from both the governments, stating that they will be participating in F8," the Head of Makassar`s Tourism and Creative Economy Office, Rusmayani Majid, said here on Monday.

The Makassar International Eight Festival and Forum or F8 has eight features, namely Food, Flower, Fashion, Film, Fiction Writing, Fusion Jazz, Folk and Find Art.

Several European and Asian countries besides the US and Latin America participate in the event.

Rusmayani disclosed that Norway will contribute three movies while Georgia will bring two movies to be screened.

The three short movies by Norway are Snow, Sissy and Alien Repair Guy. Meanwhile, the two movie titles from Georgia are Dinola and Coffee Break.

Meanwhile, the Mayor of Makassar, Moh Ramdhan Pomanto described the event as a grand stage for artists, filmmakers, authors, community clubs and many other sides engaged in art who can present their work to the whole world.

According to him, F8 will be more rousing than other events held in Makassar as the festival will see the participation of foreign guests from 20 countries, including Australia, Mongolia, Norway, India, the Netherlands, Georgia, Peru, Switzerland and Sri Lanka.

"The US consulate general has included the event in its regular agenda," the mayor added.
