Makassar, S Sulawesi (ANTARA Sulsel) - Marbo Beach in Makassar has the potential to be transformed into a marine and culinary tourism destination in South Sulawesi, according to Mayor of Makassar Moh Ramdhan Pomanto.
"Only Losari Beach is widely known across the country and has become the icon of Makassar City, but in reality, we still have several interesting marine attractions, such as the Marbo Beach," Pomanto remarked here on Sunday.
While launching the Environment Community-Based Settlement, Water Hyacinth Handicraft, and Tallo Typical Culinary event, he remarked that Marbo Beach`s culinary and maritime tourism potential is quite promising.
Although Marbo Beach is not as long as Losari Beach, Pomanto said it has good potential to be managed properly as one of the tourist destinations in Makassar.
Losari Beach is the icon of Makassar`s tourism and has become the most popular destination for the local people as it is an ideal place for them to do jogging in the morning.
