Polman, West Sulawesi (Antara Sulbar) - Some thirteen countries are participating in the International Folk and Art Festival (PIFAF) in Polewali Mandar (Polman) District, South Sulawesi, from Aug 1 to 5, 2017.

"The 13 countries participating in the International festival are South Korea, Spain, India, Finland, China, Vietnam, Morocco, the Netherlands, Ukraine, Portugal, France, Hong Kong, and Germany," Committee Chairman Mustari Mula Tammaga remarked here on Thursday.

He stated that the festival will be enlivened with a carnival followed by art galleries from these countries, and from Yogyakarta and Polewali Mandar.

PIFAF is an international event which will be participated in by the community of art activists between nations with the aim to foster international belief in the Indonesian nation, especially in Polewali Mandar District.

"The festival is to support the Nawacita program of President Joko Widodo and Vice President Jusuf Kalla to bring in 20 million foreign tourists in 2019," he revealed.

In addition, the event is also intended to maintain world peace mission through the interstate cultural interaction themed "Preserving the Culture and Developing the Tourism."
