Makassar, South Sulawesi (Antaranews Sulsel) - The Jeneponto district government in South Sulawesi has received an offer from Australia and Denmark for education cooperation in the field of renewable energy.
Jeneponto district government is now popularly developing new and renewable energy, and thus, local Investment and One Stop Integrated Service (PTSP) head Mernawati said she had responded positive the offer for cooperation.
According to her, the offer of cooperation from Australia and Denmark is good for the development of Jeneponto, the salt-producing district in South Sulawesi, in the future.
"We have been offered a cooperation in education on renewable energy development, because the two countries have many experts in the field of energy and want to share knowledge in terms of renewable energy utilization and management," she said.
Mernawati explained that if this cooperation is realized then most likely experts from Australia will be more routine to visit and provide training to students in Jeneponto.
She alto thought that the cooperation can bring research center or research laboratories that can become a place to study for the students in Jeneponto district to explore the science of renewable energy.
During the visit by a group of Renewable Energy Forum from Australia to Jeneponto on March 27, 2018, there were also 31 people from renowned university academics in Australia and representatives of institutions related to the development of renewable energy.
Those renewable energy experts are expected to come regularly to Jeneponto to share their knowledge to students in the district.
"And we hope there is a research laboratory that can be built in Jeneponto to develop renewable energy science for our students in the future," she explained.
In the meantime, acting Jeneponto District Head Asmanto Baso Lewa expressed his confidence that the visit of the Australian Consul General together with the entourage will bring progress for investment development and competitiveness management in Jeneponto.
