Makassar, S Sulawesi (Antaranews Sulsel) - The nation`s flag carrier Garuda Indonesia through its service line Garuda Indonesia Cargo has commissioned Cargo Service Center (CSC) in the Sultan Hasanuddin airport of Makassar.

"With the commissioning of the new CSC, Garuda Indonesia has three air cargo shipment service outlets in Makassar after the Pettarani CSC and the Kalla CSC," Vice President of Cargo Commercial, Rene van Joost said here on Wednesday.

Rene said the new CSC brought the number of CSC outlets to 93 units in the country located in various areas including 53 units at airports and 40 units in city centers.

Joost said through CSC, Garuda Indonesia wants to facilitate access to shipment of parcels and to support fast growing retail industry and e-commerce in Indonesia. With the CSC units, ones do not have to bring their parcels to airport, but they could come to nearest CSC and their parcels would be sent directly to the addressee with GO Express.

"The users of the service could send their parcels as needed by the same day, same day, one day, regular with goods like general cargo and special cargo, with city to port, city to door, and door to door," he said.
