Makassar, S Sulawesi (ANTARA Sulsel) - Former vice president Jusuf Kalla said he is ready to meet a House of Representatives (DPR) summons to testify in the inquiry into the Bank Century case.

"I have not yet received a summons in connection with the planned inquiry into the Century case. But as a law-abiding citizen, I must meet the summons," he said here on Thursday.

Kalla said he would answer all questions raised by the House according to what he experienced and knew while he was in office.

"Everything will depend on what the House will ask. In fact, the committee in charge of organizing the inquiry has not been formed," he said.

It is expected the 30-member committee will be formed shortly after the House convenes a plenary meeting on December 1.

Bank Century was taken over by the Deposit Insurance Agency (LPS) late last year after it faced a liquidity problem. The government later provided a bailout of Rp6.7 trillion which was much criticized by the public.

Kalla stepped down as vice president in October this year.

He lost to incumbent President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono in a presidential election on July 7.
