Makassar, South Sulawesi Province (ANTARA Sulsel) - A flood reaching a height of around 30 centimeters inundated three elementary schools at Pannampu, Tallo Makassar sub district, on Wednesday.
"The height of the floodwaters reaching over an adult's ankle disturbed the students' activities, especially because the flood also submerged the classrooms," Kursani, Cambayya II state-elementary school's principal, said here on Wednesday.
Baharuddin Kasim, the principal of Cambayya III elementary school, said that his school was always inundated because the poor drainage system could not absorb the water when it rained.
He hoped that local authorities could improve the drainage system to overcome the flood problem.
