Kuala Lumpur (ANTARA News) - Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Mohd Najib bin Tun Abdul Razak will soon send a team of officials to South Sulawesi to look into the possibility of importing cows and rice from the province.
South Sulawesi could export cows to Malaysia if it offered competitive prices, he said when receiving South Sulawesi Governor Syahrul Yasin Limpo, Commander of the Wirabuana Regional Military Command Maj Gen Amril Amri and South Sulawesi Provincial Police Chief Insp Gen Johny Waenal Usman at his private residence here Saturday.
The governor's entourage also included Commander of the Air Force Operations Command Vice Marshal R Agus Munandar, Commander of the Naval Base Brig Gen Chaidier Patonnory, Chief of the South Sulawesi Appellate Court Muhammad Ramli and Chief of the South Sulawesi Provincial Investment Coordinating Board (BKPMD) Irman Yasin Limpo.
The Malaysian premier said he would soon send the agriculture minister and other relevant ministers to South Sulawesi to explore the possibility of importing cows and rice from the province.
Even South Sulawesi could export frozen beef to the neighboring state if both sides reached a price agreement as expected, he said.
"If South Sulawesi doesn't sell it at a higher price, we will definitely give priority to the province," he said. (S012/A/H-NG/)
