Makassar, South Sulawesi (ANTARA News) - Indian motorcycle company PT TVS Motor Company Indonesia plans to sell more than 10,000 motorcycles in eastern Indonesian this year.

"We are optimistic our target will be met because the superiority and quality of the sport motorbikes we have produced have already drawn public attention," the company's area manager, Ferry Tambunan, said here on Saturday.

He added that the growth of the motorcycle market is encouraging, while PT TVS's market has grown at an average one percent per year.

He also said PT TVS plans to open a number of new dealerships, especially in South Sulawesi areas such as Parepare, Palopo, Bone and Wajo.

"We will set up new dealers in all regions in Indonesia to help people obtain the parts they need," he said.

One of the sport motorbikes to be sold is the TVS Tormax 150, which has superior power and five accelerators and is also the first to be featured in a scooter class, the Turbotune Technology.

The liquid cooled turbo-engine provides maximum performance using a compact radiator for effective cooling and three-valve technology with two intakes and one outtake line in the engine to produce superior power with optimum gas usage.

Compared to the four Japanese models, Tromax is ranked highest in terms of specifications and capacity.

The size of its engine, its power and the torque produced, as well as the efficiency in engine operations, propelled TVS Tormax to the top position, he said. (KR-BSR/F001)
