Makassar, S Sulawes (ANTARA Sulsel) - South Sulawesi Governor Syahrul Yasin Limpo officially opened a Wonderful Indonesia culinary and shopping festival dubbed "Taste of Makassar" in Ratu Indah Mall (MaRI) here, Tuesday evening.
The opening ceremony was held in MaRI but similar festivals are simultaneously organized in three other malls in Makassar from Sept. 27 to October 27, Jessy Rezky, creative design and communication office of MaRI, said.
MaRI offers a morning sale up to 75 percent during the a month-long festival.
On October 8, a local culinary bazaar will be organized to promote South Sulawesi food.
Chairman of the Association of Indonesian Shopping Center Operators (APPBI)`s Makassar chapter, Fadli Rifai Kasim, said that the festival is aimed at promoting South Sulawesi, particularly Makassar, as a tourist destination for local as well as foreign tourists.
