Makassar, S Sulawesi(ANTARA Sulsel) - Yamau Co. Ltd from Japan offers cooperation to build various infrastructure projects in South Sulawesi province.

Yamau`s President Kenichiro Nakamura visited the province on Thursday and met with Governor Syahrul Yasin Limpo on Thursday to discuss the cooperation plan.

The two discussed development of roads, agriculture infrastructure and drainage systems to prevent flooding, Kenichiro`s interpreter Ibrahim Jamaluddin, said after the meeting.

The cooperation will include transfer of technology, but no figure has been decided as the plan is still in the process of initial study, Ibrahim said.

"Details of cooperation will be discussed later including the infrastructure projects to be built first, Kenichiro said through Ibrahim.

He said he would show infrastructure projects such as monorail to the delegation of the South Sulawesi administration which plans a working visit to Japan.

"We hope during the visit to Japan an agreement could be reached and signed. After the signing of the agreement, a feasibility study would be conducted, before starting investment," he said.

He said South Sulawesi needs to have drainage system to prevent flooding from damaging roads.

"We see that drainage system needs improvement in almost all roads in the province," he added.
