KPK Launching Anti Corruption Campaigns

Mamuju, West Sulawesi (ANTARA News) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is sending 530 of its personnel to launch anti corruption campaigns to various areas in Indonesia.

Dedie A Rachim, head of the Public Service and Education Directorate of KPK, told a seminar on prevention of corruption here on Tuesday that large scale operations are needed to eradicate corruption in the country.

Indonesia has been put among the most corrupt countries in the world.

The KPK personnel are sent to popularize anti corruption campaigns in all districts of the country's 33 provinces , Dedie said.

Similar seminars are also held in other provinces like North Sumatra, Central Kalimantan and West Nusatenggara as part of the campaigns, he said.

"KPK hopes to complete the program to popularize anti corruption campaigns by the end of November this year," he said.

He hopes governors , regents and city mayors lead the campaigns to prevent corruption such as by improving public services and tighter control of the use of state fund. (T.H-ASG/A014)
