Makassar, South Sulawesi (ANTARA Sulsel) - PT Vale Indonesia reported a record high ever in annual production of nickel in matte, the company management said here on Friday.

Vale Indonesia, which is a subsidiary of Vale Limited, a multinational mining company based in Brazil with units operating in 30 countries, produced 81,177 tons of nickel in matte in 2015.

"We are proud of what we have achieved," the management of PT Vale told reporters.

Sales in 2015 rose 4 percent in volume but export earning shrank 24 on shrinking prices,it said.
