Makassar, S Sulawesi (ANTARA Sulsel) - Makassar Mayor Mohammad Ramdhan Pomanto has expressed regret that a vocational school student had to be arrested for allegedly carrying drugs.
"This must serve as a lesson for parents to pay more attention to the issue," he said here on Tuesday.
The Mayor said the arrest of the second-grade student of state vocational school SMK in Makassar should serve as a lesson for the management of the school and the parents.
The student was found carrying drugs when the school`s security guard searched his bag. The guard later reported the incident to the Makassar city police.
The drug and narcotic unit of the city police took the student to the police station for further investigations.
"It is true. The student has been taken to the police station to face questioning," he said.
