Bulukumba, S Sulawesi (ANTARA News) - South and West Sulawesi Marine Police with the help of Selayar Island police had arrested MV Kurnia and its 25 crew members as well as its skipper for illegally operating.
Its crew and skipper are now being held by the local police for a week. They came from Kassi, Kajang sub-district, Bulukumba regency.
A relative of one of the crew members named Kurnia said at the Bulukumba legislative assembly Thursday he has reported the matter to the assembly and demand justice, because the arrest was baseless, the ship had all the necessary papers, but the police still held the motor vessel for other unclear reasons.
Member of Commission A of the assembly Tamzir said he has received the report and will take the necessary measures soon to prevent an unnecessary conflict between the two regions.
