Makassar (ANTARA) - Penang, Malaysia, August 23, 2024 – The Faculty of Engineering (FT) Hasanuddin University (UNHAS) has successfully embarked on a promising collaboration with the School of Civil Engineering at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) in Penang, Malaysia. The visit, conducted on Friday, August 23, 2024, marks a significant milestone in establishing a comprehensive partnership between the two institutions. A delegation from UNHAS' Civil Engineering Department, led by Dr. Eng. Fakhruddin (Secretary of the Quality Assurance and Reputation Enhancement Unit), and Dr. Eng. Bambang Bakri (Secretary of the Civil Engineering Department), were warmly welcomed by the Dean of the School of Civil Engineering at USM, along with eight other faculty members.
The visit focused on three key areas of collaboration including Academic Exchange: Both institutions agreed to initiate student and faculty exchange programs and to utilize online learning technologies, enriching the collaborative learning experience. Next, Collaborative Research: Joint research initiatives will be prioritized, including co-authored publications in prestigious international journals.
Additionally, the partnership will facilitate knowledge and technology transfer, bolstering research capabilities at both universities. Lastly, Curriculum Development: By sharing best practices, the universities aim to co-develop curricula that align with industry demands and reflect the latest advancements in civil engineering.
During the visit, the UNHAS delegation toured various state-of-the-art laboratories and facilities at the School of Civil Engineering, USM. This firsthand experience provided valuable insights into the potential for research and development collaboration.
