Makassar (ANTARA) - The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences at Hasanuddin University (FISIP UNHAS) held an Inbound Student Mobility Program, which this time was attended by students from the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (FSSK), Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS).
The program took place over a week, from 24 April to 1 May 2025 and featured a series of academic and cultural activities involving students from both FISIP UNHAS and FSSK UMS, faculty members from both institutions, and the local community in Enrekang Regency, South Sulawesi.
The program was officially opened at the Sukur Abdullah Hall, FISIP UNHAS, where participants were warmly welcomed by the faculty leadership. In his opening remarks, the Dean of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Prof. Dr.phil. Sukri, M.Si, emphasized that this Inbound Student Mobility Program is part of the ongoing collaboration between FISIP UNHAS and FSSK UMS.
He also expressed hope for future initiatives such as joint lectures or credit-earning programs between the two faculties.
The mobility program featured various activities, one of which was a Student Entrepreneurship Sharing Session, where participants exchanged ideas and experiences related to business innovations with potential for development in their respective countries.
Students from FSSK UMS presented their creative, locally-based products and business models, along with details of entrepreneurship competitions in Malaysia they had participated in using these innovative products.
Cultural immersion was also a major highlight, particularly during the Cultural Performance, where students from four Student Activity Units (UKMs) under FISIP UNHAS showcased traditional South Sulawesi dances and music, as well as martial arts performances such as karate and taekwondo. This cultural exchange provided a warm and meaningful moment that strengthened cross-national friendships.

The final activity involving students from FISIP UNHAS and FSSK UMS was attending the inauguration of a traditional house in Enrekang Regency. Enrekang is known for its rich cultural heritage, officially recognized by the local government.
On 30 April 2025, the Tongkonan Bola Kasalle traditional house in Buntu Pare, Redak Hamlet, Patongloan Village, Enrekang Regency, was inaugurated in a ceremony attended by local government officials and traditional leaders. During this event, the students had the opportunity to observe firsthand the traditional values of the Enrekang community and to learn about the meaningful architecture and philosophy of the traditional house.
