Polewali Mandar, W Sulawesi (Antara Sulbar) - A total of 16 countries are participating in the International Folk and Art Festival (PIFAF) being held in Polewali Mandar District, West Sulawesi Province, on August 1-5, 2017.
"The foreign participants are from South Korea, Spain, India, Finland, Spain, China, Vietnam, Morocco, the Netherlands, Ukraine, Portugal, France, Hong Kong, and Germany," Mustari Mula Tammaga, chairman of the event organizing committee, noted here on Thursday.
He said the PIFAF features several events including a carnival in which art groups from various countries are participating.
"The event also supports the government`s programs to increase the number of foreign tourist arrivals to 20 million by 2019," he remarked.
Mustara explained that the festival is being organized through cooperation between the local administration of Polewali Mandar and Conseil Internal Des Organization De Folklore De Art Traditionnels of the Indonesia Section.
