Mamuju, W Sulawesi (ANTARA News) - Two-meter high waves destroyed nine houses located at Tampalang coastal village, Mamuju District, West Sulawesi Province, Wednesday evening.
"The waves had earlier broken 200-m long wave breakers located along the coast," Agus, a Tampalang resident, said Thursday.
The huge waves also damaged tens of houses at Tampalang village.
Two weeks ago, high waves from Sulawesi waters had also destroyed 10 houses and damaged six others at Tampalang coast.
Agus regretted that the Mamuju authorities have not giving any assistance to the victims nor repaired the wave breakers.(f001/HAJM )
