Mamuju, W Sulawesi (Antaranews Sulsel) - The people of Majene District of West Sulawesi Province have been urged to make Majene City a waste-free area.
"We should love the earth by cleaning up the garbage and reducing the waste. We should realize a clean culture in Majene city," Majene District Police Adjunct Senior Commissioner of Police, Asri Effendy, said here on Monday.
He stated that on National Waste Day (HSPN) in 2018, every citizen should be concerned about the garbage in the environment.
While commemorating HSPN, various activities, such as fashion show, with costumes made of plastic waste by students of Junior High School 4 of Majene, and dance performances, will be held. At the end of event, the winners for all the activities would be announced.
Besides this, the Assamallewuang coastal cleansing work will be conducted on the coast of Parappe in Majene City, as an effort to realize the city as a waste-free region.
Head of Environment and Hygiene Department M. Djazuli, S. SP, conveyed that maintaining cleanliness is important as all the daily activities are carried out in areas close to the garbage.
