Makassar, S Sulawesi (ANTARA News) - Flooding has crippled transport in the district of Maros, South Sulawesi, in the past two days following heavy rain.
The river of Maros overflowed its banks inundating the road linking the district of Pangkep and South Sulawesi capital of Makassar in the district of Maros.
"Many cars have been trapped amid traffic jams as some of the cars stalled on the road," head of the village of Allepole H. Maseng said on Sunday.
The water reaches as high as 50 centimeter in the main road between Pangkep and Makassar, Maseng said.
Rain triggered flooding has hit almost all regions of the country. Landslides hit and destroyed houses.
A number of people have been reported dead and missing because of floods over the pasty two week.
