Makassar, South Sulawesi, (ANTARA News) - A flood inundated Makassar, South Sulawesi, on Friday, forcing students to skip school. Incessant downpours had triggered a flood which has inundated a state junior high school at a height of about 50 centimeters since last week, Irmayanti, a local resident, said. "The school's principal and teachers rarely come to the school, only some students come to play with water here," she said.
However, a student said that their teachers actually did come to the school but they went back when they noticed that the school was still inundated.
Indonesia is currently in rainy season and some provinces such as West Java, East Java, West Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, and Aceh are inundated due to high intensity of rainfall. (T.SYS/F001)
