Faculty of Nursing of Hasanuddin University Holds a Guest Lecture on Eldercare by Experts from Groningen, The Netherlands
Makassar (ANTARA) - Faculty of Nursing, Hasanuddin University (UNHAS), conducted a guest lecture on Tuesday, March 28, 2023. The guest lecture featured Sanne Heinen, M.Sc (senior lecturer in general nursing; Country coordinator for international partnership) and Hyllan Weijer, M.Ed., RN (Senior lecturer in general nursing and social psychiatric nursing).
The event was opened by Syahrul, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kes., Ph.D, Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, and attended by more than 150 students from several study programs: Bachelor of Nursing, Professional Nurse, Diploma of Nursing, and Bachelor of Physiotherapy.
This guest lecture was moderated by Silvia Malasari, S.Kep., Ns., MN., as a lecturer at the Faculty of Nursing, UNHAS from the Community, Family, and Gerontic Nursing Department.
In the guest lecture, Sanne Heinen presented the topic of "Trends and challenges in Elderly Care" by explaining comparisons of care for older people between the two countries, namely Indonesia and the Netherlands.
She also allowed the participants to answer some of the questions, and discussions were given to find solutions - applicative solutions that students and health workers can implement regarding elderly care in the community.
Furthermore, Hyllan Weijer gave a guest lecture topic on the "Uses and Challenges of E-Health". He explained the E-Health technology currently practiced in health services in the Netherlands and gave an implementation presentation that health workers in Indonesia could adopt.
In his presentation, participants were given an opportunity to ask questions regarding the E-Health topic guided by the moderator. The participants were enthusiastic about the discussion and hoped that guest lecture activities could be held more frequently with varied issues in the future.
