Makassar (ANTARA Sulsel) - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics agency (BMKG) in Makassar responded to the tragic condition of Bone residents, South Sulawesi.
The head of the BMKG Sujarwo said here Thursday that if he had received reports on the tragic condition to the Bone district residents.
There's even a rumors of a "meteoric sonic" explosion and lightning the the crash of an aircraft.
"Our equipment did not detect any of these natural happenings, but at 10:40 local time, our seismograph detected an earthquake in Wajo district, about 62 miles south of Sengkang with a 1.9 magnitude," he said
The power has a depth reaching five kilometers from the mainland, but the power is only caused small vibrations. "If people felt their house were shaking, it is because the low magnitude quake, it measured only 1.9 on the Richter scale," he said.
Furthermore, he explained that BMKG did not locate all the reported explosions and the sounds of thunder.
The most certain thing is that the seismograph located in Bone, Camba Maros, Bulukumba and Sidenreng Rappang regency had spotted g a small earthquake 4.68 degrees south latitude and 9 degrees east longitude.
