Makassar, S Sulawesi (ANTARA Sulsel) - Nine of 14 dead victims of the Air Force Hercules plane crash in Magetan, East Java, Wednesday, arrived at Sultan Hasanuddin airport here Thursday at about 2.50 p.m. local time.
The nine bodies, three of them civilians, were received in a military ceremony and the bereaved families' crying and sobbing at the airport.
The bodies were identified as Arsyad Langka and his wife Halifah Tasiampo, Imas, Sergeant Major Alimin Arang, Sergeant Major Yusfianus Alfian, Major PSK Boy Timur Wahyudi, Captain SUS. Nurmansuri, Sergeant Major Dwi Wijayanto and Sergeant Major Andi Wiratno.
Arsyad Langka and his wife Halifah Tasiampo, Imas, Major Boy Timur Wahyudi and Sergeant Major Andi Wiratno were buried in Makassar, capital of South Sulawesi province, after they were laid in state here.
In the meantime, Sergeant Major Alimin Arang was buried in Gowa district, Sergeant Major Yusfianus Alfian in Tana Toraja district, Captain SUS. Nurmansuri in Soppeng district and Sergeant Major Dwi Wijayanto buried in Palopo.
Spokesman of the Hasanuddin military airbase, Capt. Sus. Agus Subagio said the other five bodies will be flown to Makassar later.
The five bodies were identified as those of Siti Aminah and Kartika, the wife and daughter of Boy Timur Wahyudi. The others were Rahmad, Hasrul Ari Rajab and Syahruddin.
The C-130 Hercules crashed into a rice field, and hit some houses only a few minutes before scheduled for landing at Iswahyudi military airbase.
The dead victims included 11 crew members, a ranking Air Force officer, Air Commodore Harsono and his wife, and three Geplak villagers whose houses were hit by the ill-fated Hercules plane when it crashed.
Early on Wednesday, the Hercules plane left Halim Perdanakusuma military airbase in Jakarta for Surabaya at 5.30 a.m. with 110 passengers and a crew of 11 on board
